LOG 81
Wow! So much has been going on our side of the world! Two months now that we have been in Johor and Boy has the time flown!! We have been busy changing all our inside plugs and lights ... LEDS are fantastic!!! What excitement to make your own designs etc! Now with all the plugs and wiring in order, we can sleep so much easier LOL
Been to Singapore a few times which is really fantastic as we know the drill now, and boy does that make your life so much easier! Just having a problem with our bus tickets in Johor as we must show them to the bus conductor, but for some reason, the conductor has to re-issue ours, everytime!! Not quite sure what the story is with all that, but we just smile ![]()
Sitting here just after midnight, the 1st August listening to the party bands, makes me smile because they play the exact same songs EVERY night!! But we love it!! They have voices that do not make you go crazy so that helps! We also can sing along as we know the words already! hehehe Seeing as we cannot play our own music as you would not hear it against theirs anyway ![]()
Early in July TYAMOR, Bebert and Laurence had their two daughters fly over and also to be here for their brother Francios's birthday which was really wonderful!!! He was totally surprised and speechless, and very happy!!! We all joined in having a big braai for him to celebrate which was so nice!!
Amelie and Claire and the whole brood, went on the rides they have here after we all celebrated Amelies pass from Uni, and everyone had a ball!
TY Armor headed off to Melacca for the weekend, while we ended up in the hospital for the weekend with Jess. All of us were really shaken but are more than happy that things have settled down and all is well and back on track xx Makes you realize just how short life can be and to really look at the blessings in your life and the positive things in life .. We serve a Mighty God who really does leave only one pair of footprints in the sand when we are faced with trials...
The following week with our nerves all frazzled we all, Bebert, Laurence, Amelie, Claire, Francios, John, Justine, Jess, Jono and myself, took a mini bus, compliments of Danga Bay to Larken, the Bus terminal, where we caught a bus to Mersing. Two hours flew by so quick as we slept most of the way LOL Then it was off to lunch at the Ferry Terminal which was wonderful!! There was quite a few hours delay because of the tides!! The ferry had to wait for the tide to come in so off we headed to all the Tioman Islands, dropping off passengers at different docks, then it was back to the same dock we had just left to pick up a couple who had the wrong place. Two hours later we arrived in Juara. We saw Plane Sailing anchored out but could not get hold of them as we did not have our phone!!! We all jumped into 4x4's and headed for the Duty Free shop where we bought refreshments, etc. What an awesome drive!!! The hills were so steep we were shocked we never back flipped down the hill!!! The views were stunning and the greenery just breathtaking!! You have to take a four by four to get to the other side of the mountain, as no car or bike will make the trip!!
It was truly such an awesome sight and we were so blessed just to experience that mountain trip! What beauty!!!! So soul quenching!!
We booked into our cabins surrounded by lush green trees and shrubbery! AIR CON!!! We unpacked while having a great cuppa!!! We made sure we stocked up well on that!!
Well ... we ate at the restaurant everyday while there as you have no kitchen in the cabins, so cannot cook, (Only a kettle!) and the prices are so reasonable and the food just delish!!! We played ball on the beach, Flew kite, took walks, and had some amazing moments just chilling and enjoying ourselves x We did not even notice the TV till we left!!!!!!! So that was great!! We swam in crystal clear water which was such a blessing and a change to the usual murky water. We had fish braais, and tried out all the dishes we could.
Jono went diving with the dive team, and it just had to be... a really huge storm!! Big thunder and lightning!! OOOoohhhh!!! I felt so sorry for Jono being in the water, which he was though his account was quite amazing actually! He did not know it was a storm till he saw the blue light in the water!!! He arrived back soaked and very happy with himself! I cannot say I was so calm and happy till I saw him!! LOL We all played board games while waiting for Jono which was really fun!! Everyone was playing something different and what a great memory!!
After four incredible days, we sadly packed up and headed back to the ferry..... where we all sat outside most of the trip back soaking up the breathtaking views ... the array of colours in the water and the fish you could clearly see when stopping at the different islands picking up people!!!
The trip seemed to go so fast and we were back on our baby Bluemoon!
The storms that we have been having here has been totally hair raising!!! The lightning like I said before is nothing we have ever experienced ever!!! I actually have lost my breath from fright!! But that is the season here now....
We all celebrated Beberts birthday with John making a biltong maker and me making the booklet with instruction, not that he needs it as he knows how to make biltong better than most!!! But we decided to make ourselves one and are we addicted! It is so fun and really is biltong!!!!! LOL So you now know what we are up to!!! hehe
Just a few days ago, I was awoken by this " Squawking" which sounded like a bird... but when I listened I heard "HELP" so I darted out of bed not even thinking of dressing properly and flew out the boat onto the dock, the kids were up early, 5:00am, and had their earphones on so shot outside to see what was up.... what we saw was a person in the water, in the middle of the beach and the boats, screaming for help while swallowing lots of water, drowning more like it - So I scream back, we on our way, hang on!! Of course the whole marina is up by now, and while we were trying to get the duck off the front of our boat, another boat beat us to it, thankfully for she would not have lasted that long!!! Long story short, there were a few issues with her story and clearly she was afraid of going home with her friends. She was a tiny Vietnamese young lady that was lucky to walk away alive!! Though now that I think of it, no one jumped into the water! Maybe it was the snakes that none of us jumped in???
Sadly we said our good byes to Amelie and Claire, playing one last trick on Claire before she left
Toothpaste in the handshake hehehehe She is so good at getting you!! We just had to come up with something good, ...
We got the cherry on top of the cake when we got a call from the Embassy to collect all our passports!! 7 months later!!! John decided that for the very 1st time we would leave our three darlings on the boat overnight while we made the trip to KL to collect them... What a bright spark!! We were like little kids!!! Thoroughly had a ball and enjoyed every minute of our trip there and back with our precious cargo!!
Well, Jono has headed off to Singapore for the evening along with all the skater guys who will do an all night skating. He really loves this lifestyle and the freedom of going out without him or us always being so worried... Good 'ol SA needs this kind of freedom!!
Past 1 am and the party still goes on! Remember that the Malays don't drink, but they sure know how to have a good time!! 7 wedding today, so am not surprised!!
We are looking at our next leg of our journey and have a two month window ... so will keep you posted!!
Keep those emails rolling!! We love to hear from all of you! And to our new members WELCOME!!
Continue enjoying life and living it to the fullest!!
Remember it is a choice!!
Love from John Jenny Justine Jessica and Jonathan x
