Sitting here with my foot up, a great cup of coffee watching a huge storm roll in with loud long rumbling thunder.. watching three brides on the beach rush off to safety ... brings the reality of how truly wonderful this lifestyle is ...
The fan humming in the background ... a lazy hot and humid day... Kids doing school while Jess finishes her washing and everyone seems content with what they are doing... a few slaps of wavelets on the scoops of the boat brings a tinge of sweet memories back to mind ....
Ok ... that kind of peacefulness was short lived ... someone is drilling!! ..... so all is now loud and noisy right now LOL! ... well not so shortlived - it stopped!! ![]()
Went through all our photos now that I am bound to sit all day and night till this pulled or torn calf muslce heals ... so have been having such a good laugh at all our funny pics!! Those are still the best ones for me! x
Being on the boat for all this time, low sandles are the thing to wear when going on land - no question! But as most of you know, with us preparing to head for land for quite awhile longer than a month, I have been buying high heel sandals, which I normaly wore on land, which I must admit, I really miss! Anyway, I wore these hi heels to the restuarant for Rons daughters birthday party ... Well, what a reaction from everyone really liking the shoes!! hehehe Jack got his wife Jackie who does not usually wear high heels at all to put them on and do the penguin walk which was really funny!! She looked like a model on the cat walk!!!! They really did look stunning on her!!
The photos are mainly of the shoes!!!! whahahhah
Anyways, we all danced and really had alot of fun! Getting a 25% discount for being a yachtie is always a bonus when going out to eat in Danga bay!! So being
at ' Lazio" which is a real nice restuarant, we all ate like kings!! A real treat if you will know!
Being a yachtie seems to have quite a few perks of meeting people rather quicker than one does on land - and you get all kinds of characters!! Actually we have been very blessed to have met some amazing and wonderful people that just touch a part of your soul that emprints it's happy memory for life! After the party John and I headed on back to TY Armor where some more dancing was to be had! We are truly blessed knowing such awesome people!
John got me onto Google maps which is astounding!!!!! You get to see a place as if you are truly there!!!! Looking at our old house, and friends places, I have been having a ball!!! Wow!! You should try it if you have not yet tried!!!
Birds!! The birds can now be heard!! What a lovely sound when you have not heard it for a while! Also, saw a dog!! You do not get dogs in Malaysia, or very few whom the Chinese own, but not the Malays - so to see a dog or hear the bark of one is quite an inspiration! Ron has a dog onboard so we get the pleasure of enjoying her company when she runs along the walkons!! Also when he pops in for a chat, KC jumps on board and gets the attention from all of us!
Cannot believe we had Justines 19th Birthday already! This is her 4th Birthday out of SA! Her 16th one was at Russian Bay, Madagascar, 17th was at sea on
route to Indonesia ( had an Indian Themed party for her when we arrived in Langkawi) 18th was in KL - Genting Highlands and now her 19th was in Johor Bahru! It actually stuns me that we are aging! I know I look the age just don't feel it!
Must be all this sun ![]()
Justine went with 14 of the yachtie kids to Festive mall, to the archade to play basket ball then came back for a braai with a few of the yachties which was really fun even though her birthday was the next day. We had a tub filled with water and apples in it, as I have always seen this on the movies and found it to be fun, so we decided to try it and everyone had to join in - catch an apple in your mouth without using your hands!!!!! NOT easy I tell you! Jackie set a rule in motion that we were not allowed to bite or catch the apple by the stalk so it became way funnier!! Unfortunately Ron had a problem which was made worse by sticking his head in the water!! Now it is like he is sea sick all the time! His signals are giving off wrong instructions
Hot is not quite the word I am looking for to describe this heat! Like you cannot take a breath of fresh air! It is thick in your throat and feels like you have just
taken a shower and not dried off yet!! You shower three maybe four times a day just to cool off!!
The rain poured down and the thunder was amazing ... thankfully the lightening was not close this time
It has taken the sting out of the heat so feel much more content now. Looks like more rain on the way ...
Ended up having such a stunning evening where all the yachties were invited to the convention centre for free food and great live local bands playing x It was for the end of Hari Raya and so had the tables set up so beautifully and the food!! Huge prawns , lots of local dishes which were really tasty, fruit, desserts, you name it! Honestly, we felt like royalty!! We were told to dress up and not come yachtie fied so managed to dress accordingly and as the one yachtie woman said, she was sure they were more surprised at how good we all looked considering!!
Plans. plans. plans ...... so much of that going on, but will let you all know at the appropriate time ... Jono and Jess have their 17th and 18th Birthdays coming up and Christmas is almost here ..... so have a few surprises in store ....
Hope to hear from you guys!!!! Email keeps us close to you and home, so please don't be lazy!! Some of you I have not heard from in months now .... so .... will be checking my guestbook or inbox to see how many of you actually are reading my blogs ... xx
Time to have another great cup, listen to the birds and watch the calm seas ![]()
God Bless you all and don't forget you have one life to live so live it to the fullest!!
Love John, Jenny, Justine, Jessica and Jonathan xxx
