Life in Australia

With great excitement the kids and I said our sad goodbyes to wonderful friends not knowing when we would all meet up again and headed for Singapore.

We were disappointed that the water we bought for the plane was 'discarded' so begged to drink some on the Singapore side before heading into the waiting room to board the flight. We were so excited and could not wait to meet up with John. It had been the longest time we have ever been apart in 22 years!!!!! No kidding! Painful was not the word! It was like a part of me was amputated!! The kids were a truly great inspiration and I love them all to bits!!! Though I must confess that the Lord kept my chin up!  x

I was more than thrilled looking through one of the bookstores at the airport to find the next sequel to my series from Jean Auel's Earth Children 'Clan of the Cave Bear'. I have read all the other books 8 times!! Yes! 8 times as I absolutely love the long in depth story of the ice ages! It always takes me on an adventure to far away places x

We enjoyed the flight watching movies and listening to music preparing ourselves for being 'land based for awhile as already I was thinking of Bluemoon... and wondering truthfully how long I would last!!

So how does one describe the lessons learnt ... or how you have changed and can all of a sudden see life so differently ... like you have gained so much richness and found the secret to really living life to the fullest ... it is not like you get stronger, yet you do. You come to realize how fragile and quick life actually is and how much beauty there really is out there that we would never have noticed with a full and busy life. I found the noise around me from everybody to be a new experience!!!! Yes - it was something new! Being on Bluemoon life is 'peaceful' 'quiet' even though we are a loud family and have some issues x as most of you who know us know! x You become aware in a way you never did before ... like these past four years sailing have been life changing and powerful! And very ADDICTIVE!! I Just LOVE it!

Normal for me is simplicity and gratitude. Less can be more!

I am a Christian and Love the Lord Jesus more than anything, and have been so blessed to see another side to our Precious Lord and the miracles He has revealed to us through His incredible beauty!! There can be no doubt about His Might and Awesomeness!!! What an amazing artist He is!!!!!! Like I said before ... He has really spoiled some places more than others and enjoys some places more than others x

Going to Australia makes me think of all the 'Stories' people have shared about their experiences ... having been told how 'strict they are with ALL the rules'!! So many 'fears' 'worries etc that could cause anxiety and stress in heap fulls which most times end up being nothing more than False Evidence Appearing Real  ... Really, how many demons do we fight that are not even there?? So it is good not to listen and believe everything you hear - We will soon be experiencing it for ourselves ... We have a choice whether we want to focus on the positive or the negative in any situation .... and we choose the positive ... no matter how hard some things in life can be xx

Have I been on Bluemoon too long? Well I will just have to check that we are not in the wrong lane of life if we stop enjoying the journey we are on .... might just mean going back and refocusing... Happiness and Purpose ..... isn't that what we all seek in life? We are not much different from each other .. this noise is a revelation to me!! There is a freedom in stillness ... Being still for periods of time is such an exhilarating, encouraging thing to experience as in that stillness you draw nearer to the Lord and learn more about yourself ... you also get to 'hear' more than you normally would or rather 'I' would! I cannot say that I have stopped talking as much as I used to ... I think I talk even more and what worries me is that I stand accountable much more than those who don't talk as much!! LOL!!!

Okay ... it is okay if you don’t like something ... just not okay pretending you do - you learn to be completely yourself leaving all those inhibitions behind not worrying about what other people think of you because it actually does not matter what they think ... there are some things in life you do not need to prove or explain ...  the friends and loved ones know and are enough ...

Shows you how time to spare can get me going!!!! I am on a role here! LOL

This food is not too bad - just seems to be so much of it!! Though we are not complaining about it lol xx and those 'low calorie' lable does not mean healthy.

Almost time to be landing at Brisbane airport!!!!! Whoop Whoop!

Well - it has been two months now and wow! It has been great!!! The people have been friendly, and the church we are going to is just wonderful! Alive!!

John finished working and is now spending all his time thinking about Bluemoon and where we can go to next. We have been out quite a bit, exploring and it has been great!  We are staying in a little sea side village just 20 minutes drive to Brisbane city!  Jess had a hard time readjusting but seems to be getting into the swing of life and is now walking to the library everyday coming back with 'cooking books to gardening books' so have all been excited to learn how and what grows in this climate. Jono and I have 'HUNDREDS" of chili seedlings to green pepper to tomatoes! We planted the seeds and now enjoy taking our load out each day into the sun and fresh air watching them grown stronger and bigger! Lisa, a friend from the church gave me some sweet potato which I planted after we shared lunch with them and are so thrilled to see how they have just popped up and are growing strong!!!  Wow! Already we have given quite a few away as they just keep popping up!!! What a wonderful feeling of success loving our little plants!! Only thing now is ... we are planning on coming back to Bluemoon around September and do not know what or who to give our 'babies' to!!!! What a pity we will not see them develop into strong plants producing stunning produce! But we will one day when we come back.

Quiet an experience getting our licenses!!! You have to have your SA license converted so must still do a learners test and a driving test!!! Not quite what I pictured 25 years later doing again!!!! It took me so long to actually get my license that this seems rather radical of them expecting this at my age!! LOL But having been back driving again I am feeling rather happy and not too bothered as when I went with John to get his, he lost his SA drivers and realized a woman was taking him which just freaked his precious mind out and so she came back and told him she would pass him but let him know he had not done very well! He broke all the laws of driving!! We still laugh now when we talk about it!! Though I had better sweeten my words as I may too have to eat them!!!!

The kids are all well and making the most of the cool days which we are all enjoying!

So ... we will be heading back to Bluemoon and will be sailing again though will keep you all up to date with what we are going to do.

Thanks to everyone who writes to us xx It is always wonderful hearing your news and what you have all been up to!! Keep them rolling!!!

God Bless and Keep Living Life to the Fullest!!

Hi all. Absolutely love following your journey. You are an amazing family. Miss you all. Maybe one day I will actually travel; away from Durban. I must admit that I am lucky having so many Cruising friends who I can follow. Tons of love. Gailforce
