                      Tips From Our Travels

  • Credit Card Tips : Take your major credit card, such as, Visa, Master Card, you will be able to draw cash at the ATM. The ATM will issue money in their local          currency.
  • Clothing tips: If you travelling to tropical places - Don't overpack! Remember to 'cover' up  in Muslim countries ..
  • Language Phrase Book :  Don't leave home without it!! 
  • Clothing pegs : By all plastic ones - the steel piece rusts. 
  • Bus tips :  Travel by bus, it is inexpensive, flexible, and you get to see more sites!
  • Yacht Maintenance : Maintenance is a year-round job
  • Iced Water : Fill an empty coke bottle with water, then freeze it. When going out on an excursion or outing take the iced bottle with you, and it will slowly melt giving you a cool refreshing drink.
  • Prescription Drugs : If you are taking any prescription drugs - have an adequate supply with the generic name of the drug or alternative, also carry a prescription with you in case.
  • Multi-Vitamins : Try taking multi-vitamins with you  to keep your levels
  • Bargaining : Some shops have set prices where you can't bargain, though try bargain at the ones that don't have set prices and usually you should get away with saving some money. (They love to bargain!)
  • Urchins : When snorkeling or diving NEVER EVER stand on, or touch, some coral, stone fish lion fish, or urchins - they can be deadly!
  • Dentistry : When traveling, always take a dental repair kit with you in case you can't get to a dentist.
  • Passports : Always check the date stamped into your passport and make sure you count out the 30 or 90 days given from that date, don't count a month as thirty days.
  • Converting money: Carry a small calculator to convert money exchanges and to show to vendors while negotiating prices.
  • Cell Phone : Call your cell phone provider to find out if you have international roaming before you leave.
  • Travel Light : When you get back from holiday, make a list of all the things you didn't wear or use and all the things you could have done with. That way you can refer back when packing for your next trip.
  • Batteries : Buy batteries and memory cards for your camera before you go overseas, some places don't carry your size!
  • Area Maps : Carry proper maps of the areas and places you want to visit as some places do not have signboards.
  • Scratches/Sores : In the tropics -  especially the Pacific, if you get a scratch or a sore then you must clean it immediately with Peroxide or it will get infected.
